The award, presented by the Secretary of the Air Force, recognises units for superior performance, often involving significant accomplishments or contributions with a global impact or during combat operations. In 2024, the wing carried out two Bomber Task Force deployments and five higher headquarters directives, including airstrikes in Iraq and Syria against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force and affiliated militia groups.
Other notable undertakings included relocating the base’s entire B-1B Lancer fleet to Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, conducting a comprehensive base-wide mobility exercise, advancing extensive B-21 Raider construction projects, and engaging in numerous community and civic outreach activities. These operations collectively underscored the wing’s strategic importance and operational capability.
