Saab secures contract extension for Gripen C/D, enhancing defence capabilities

Swedish defence company Saab has received an additional order for its Gripen C/D contract from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Swedish defence company Saab has received an additional order for its Gripen C/D contract from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The contract extension, valued at SEK 466 million, includes upgrades and studies focused on integrating advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground missile systems.

 

Lars Tossman, Head of Saab’s Aeronautics business area, expressed the significance of the contract: “The extension of the Gripen C/D contract marks an important step forward for our defence. The integration of new advanced missile systems demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. We are proud to contribute to Sweden’s defence capability through this contract.”

The integration of these missile systems will greatly enhance the operational performance of the Gripen C/D aircraft. The upgrades ensure that Gripen C/D remains a versatile and reliable asset, critical to Sweden’s defence strategy in the coming years.
