Lockheed Martin has been awarded a significant contract modification from the U.S. Navy valued at approximately USD 3.36 billion. The agreement focuses on providing logistics support services for the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter, benefiting both domestic and international military operations.

The Department of Defense announced on Monday that the aeronautics division of Lockheed Martin will handle a wide array of tasks under this contract. These include ground maintenance, depot-level activities, resolving action requests, operating and maintaining the Automatic Logistics Information System, managing supply chains, and sustaining pilot training systems.

Work related to the contract will span multiple U.S. states, including Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and California. The project is expected to continue through December 2025, supporting a broad coalition of F-35 users, including the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as non-Department of Defense partners and foreign military sales customers.

The modification will be funded through various sources, including the U.S. service branches’ fiscal 2025 operations and maintenance budgets, contributions from non-DOD program participants, and funds from foreign military sales customers. Naval Air Systems Command will oversee the financing and execution of this crucial defence initiative.
