GKN Aerospace signs three-year deal with Boeing for C-17 Globemaster fan blade repairs

GKN Aerospace has announced the signing of a new three-year contract with Boeing to provide fan blade repair services for the C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft. The work will support the aircraft's PW F117-100 engines, which are based on the dual-use PW2000 platform.

GKN Aerospace has announced the signing of a new three-year contract with Boeing to provide fan blade repair services for the C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft. The work will support the aircraft's PW F117-100 engines, which are based on the dual-use PW2000 platform.

 

The contract will be fulfilled from GKN Aerospace’s newly opened 150,000-square-foot facility in San Diego, California. This state-of-the-art site features advanced automation and robotics to improve efficiency, boost reliability, and shorten turnaround times for critical engine components.

With over 15 years of experience in PW2000 fan blade repairs, GKN Aerospace will offer high-quality solutions for this vital military platform. The San Diego facility is designed to handle up to 80,000 fan blade repairs annually, serving more than 400 global customers.
