German defence technology company Rheinmetall presents new Battlesuite platform, a digital solution designed to connect and enhance military systems for modern, multidimensional conflicts. The company will introduce the innovation at the 2025 AFCEA trade exhibition, describing it as a core element for enabling “combat operations of the future” with superior effectiveness.

Battlesuite integrates conventional and unmanned weapon systems, combining their respective strengths in a holistic approach to warfare. This allows for greater precision, flexibility, and efficiency, relieving human operators while enhancing overall operational capability.

At the centre of the system is blackned’s Tactical Core, which serves as the operating base and is expandable with a theoretically limitless range of applications—much like smartphone app architecture. These include both Rheinmetall’s own developments and applications from strategic partners, resulting in a modular and robust infrastructure.

Key features of the Battlesuite include seamless interoperability between heterogeneous systems, real-time communication in complex scenarios, and a multi-layered cyber security architecture. Rheinmetall describes the solution as “forwards-looking and powerful”, ensuring smooth communication between new and legacy systems.

The platform also supports modular architecture, open code for national customisation, and AI-based decision-making, using predictive models to enhance situational awareness. According to the company, “the AI-based platform acts as a tactical data fog that collects, stores, synchronises and presents data to all applications.”

To ensure secure and stable communication, Battlesuite integrates tactical radio and IP systems, adapted for both old and new technologies, and designed to withstand electronic warfare environments. “With state-of-the-art encryption technologies and continuous threat analysis,” Rheinmetall states, the system “reliably protects sensitive data.”

The platform supports multi-security domains by enabling cross-domain communication and integrating isolated security zones, making it suitable for government, critical infrastructure, and multinational contexts. Its open architecture also reduces costs by allowing shared platform use and easier integration of new technologies.

By enabling real-time information exchange across all battlefield units, Battlesuite significantly enhances the accuracy and speed of decision-making. Rheinmetall emphasises that digitalisation and networking not only increase operational flexibility but also improve sustainability in terms of resource planning and utilisation.
