Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control has received a contract from the U.S. Government to produce Generation 4 Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (Gen 4 TADS/PNVS) systems. The contract supports the U.S. Government’s Foreign Military Sales agreement for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopters destined for the Polish Air Force.

This marks the first time the Common Sensor Electronic Unit (CSEU) and Generation 2 Turret (Gen 2 Turret) will be delivered as standard components of the AH-64E sensor suite. The Gen 4 TADS/PNVS provides pilots with enhanced long-range, precision engagement and navigation capabilities under all conditions, including day, night, and adverse weather.

“We are proud to support Poland’s modernization efforts by providing our battle-proven TADS/PNVS systems for their new AH-64E Apache helicopters,” said Tom Eldredge, Director of Rotary Wing Sensors at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. The system enables Apache helicopters to engage targets effectively while maintaining a safe distance.

Lockheed Martin will also collaborate with Poland to establish a Special Repair Activity (SRA) facility for the TADS/PNVS systems at WZL1 in Łódź. This initiative aims to strengthen Poland’s industrial base and support long-term maintenance needs.

“The SRA will support local maintenance and repair of most Gen 4 TADS/PNVS system repairable parts,” Eldredge added. “This capability will enable the Polish Air Force to quickly complete any required maintenance and keep their aircraft operational.”
