The letter of intent aims to expand collaboration in defence materiel, development, innovation and the defence industry. Both countries underlined that the arrangement builds on existing close defence relations.
“Sweden and Poland have a shared view of the challenges and threats in our region. In November 2024, Sweden and Poland entered into a strategic partnership, which we value highly. This new letter of intent on military-technical cooperation is an extension of this,” says Jonson.
The signing took place alongside bilateral meetings and Jonson’s participation at the MSPO international defence industry exhibition in Poland. The Swedish Ministry of Defence described the agreement as a further deepening of cooperation between the two nations.
