Polaris Government and Defense, a division of Polaris Inc., has been awarded a two-year framework contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) for the supply of MRZR D light tactical vehicles valued at hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars. The agreement could be extended up to five years, enabling NATO members and partners to acquire the vehicles to strengthen mobility and mission readiness across diverse operational environments.

The procurement model fulfils competition requirements, streamlining acquisition and removing the need for additional costly and time-consuming trials. Through the NSPA platform, member states and partner nations will be able to obtain MRZR D2 and D4 vehicles under this multi-year arrangement.

The NSPA stated: “Mobility and interoperability are key pillars of operational success in today’s multinational missions. Polaris’ MRZR D vehicles provide our allied forces with agile, mission-ready mobility to meet the evolving demands of modern operations. This contract further strengthens our ability to deliver critical capabilities to NATO and partner nations.”

MRZR Ds are already in use with more than 50 military and security forces worldwide, supporting expeditionary, rapid response and special operations. Their modular payload design, diesel powertrain, and air and sea transportability make them well-suited for deployment in complex terrain and contested zones.

According to Polaris, the agreement also provides bulk pricing benefits and expedited acquisition, while promoting interoperability, standardisation and a reduced logistics footprint across NATO forces. Steve Canner, manager, EMEA, Polaris Government and Defense, said: “Polaris Government and Defense has partnered with NSPA for several years, delivering tactical vehicles and mobility solutions to allied forces. The MRZR D has proven to be a highly adaptable and reliable platform for our NATO partners. We are proud to continue our support of NATO missions with vehicles designed to perform in the world’s most demanding environments.”

First introduced in 2012, the MRZR platform has been continuously enhanced to meet the requirements of the US military and allied forces. The MRZR D, combat-proven and air- and sea-transportable, supports roles ranging from personnel and light cargo transport to casualty evacuation, command and control, and rapid deployment missions.

Since entering service, MRZRs have also been integrated with counter-unmanned aerial systems, weapons, laser systems, ISR capabilities, command and control packages, autonomy kits, medical evacuation equipment and refuelling systems. The MRZR D is part of Polaris Government and Defense’s wider portfolio of off-road military solutions, including the MRZR Alpha, MV 850, DAGOR and militarised snowmobiles.
