Quantum Systems has announced a long-term commitment to the United Kingdom with the creation of Quantum-Systems Ltd. UK, following the full acquisition of Nordic Unmanned UK. The German company plans investments of up to €50 million over the next five years, aimed at building on local competencies, capacities and value chains.

The expansion supports the UK Ministry of Defence’s 20-40-40 strategy, which calls for 20% crewed platforms to control 40% reusable systems such as drones and 40% consumable systems such as rockets and missiles. Quantum Systems says its full-spectrum ISR drone portfolio, spanning short- to long-range, is well placed to contribute to this doctrine.

The company’s plan covers infrastructure, engineering and partnerships with UK providers, with a Service, Support, Training and Logistics Centre (SSTLC) to be established on demand. Investments will include maintenance and repair operations alongside training and test infrastructure, with a Memorandum of Understanding with Skyports to be formalised at DSEI UK 2025.

At the same event, Quantum Systems is showcasing Reliant, its latest long-range ISR drone, completing its short-, medium-, and long-range portfolio. Reliant is operated via the company’s MOSAIC UXS software, launched earlier this year, and is intended to strengthen end-to-end solutions for defence and security customers.

Vito Tomasi has been appointed Managing Director of Quantum Systems Ltd. UK to lead the company’s efforts in Britain. A former Royal Marine with global operational deployments, Tomasi later worked in finance at Goldman Sachs and in innovation investment at Speedinvest.

With our UK hub, our acquisition of Nordic Unmanned UK, and the leadership of Vito Tomasi, Quantum Systems is committed to being the trusted partner delivering these capabilities for Britain’s defence and security.”

Vito Tomasi, Managing Director of Quantum Systems UK stated: “Quantum Systems is here to stay and deepen our investment in the UK. By investing in British talent, infrastructure, and partnerships, and by delivering our proven, battlefield-ready aerial intelligence systems, we will contribute to the UK’s defence priorities and even exceed expectations.”
