Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, and the UK Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey, have agreed to produce Ukrainian-developed interceptor drones in the United Kingdom. The agreement, signed in London, continues the commitments made between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on strengthening industrial cooperation.

The first production batch will include one thousand drones, all of which will be delivered to Ukraine. “Interceptor drones have already proven effective against russia’s ‘Shahed-style’ terror. We will continue to scale up these projects, attract investment, and enhance technologies to protect Ukrainian cities and civilians from russian air attacks as effectively as possible,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

During the meeting, Shmyhal and Healey discussed the implementation of the agreement and its practical steps. “This agreement represents a significant step in implementing the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement between the United Kingdom and Ukraine,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

The parties also reviewed the outcomes of the most recent Ramstein-format meeting. They further agreed on the key topics for the next session, which is scheduled to take place in October.
