Raytheon UK has secured a contract from the UK Space Agency to deliver orbital analyst capabilities as part of the nation’s Space Domain Awareness mission. The contract includes access to Raytheon UK's NORSSTrack software, which supports satellite tracking, debris monitoring, collision assessment, and re-entry analysis to aid operational decisions.

The analysts will be stationed at the National Space Operations Centre facility at RAF High Wycombe, enhancing the UK’s space operations and analytical response capacity. “Our orbital analysts are among the most capable in the industry,” said James Gray, chief executive and managing director of Raytheon UK. “We’ve invested heavily in developing this talent, particularly in the North-East, as part of our continued support of space domain awareness.”

Space domain awareness is essential for maintaining the safety and resilience of the UK’s operations in space, especially in a contested orbital environment. The Strategic Defence Review emphasises its role in protecting national assets and securing defence, government, and industrial interests.

“Our continued partnership with Raytheon allows us to deliver key components of the National Space Operations Centre operations, analysis and response capability – clearly signalling our commitment to safeguarding UK and allied interests in an increasingly complex orbital environment,” said Angus Stewart, head of the National Space Operations Centre.

Raytheon UK’s collaboration with the UK Space Agency and ongoing investment in the field reinforces the UK’s leadership in space innovation and operations. As part of RTX’s Raytheon business, the company employs over 2,000 people across the UK and provides defence, space, and training solutions for the Ministry of Defence.
