Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), part of the SK Group and a global leader in small arms manufacturing, has introduced the BOOST system, a compact and durable power solution that converts AR-15 and M4 rifles into self-sustaining tactical power hubs. Developed to meet the increasing energy demands of modern battlefield operations, BOOST eliminates the need for disposable batteries by delivering continuous, mission-grade power to all electronic devices mounted on the weapon.

Integrated directly into the rifle’s buttstock, BOOST maintains natural handling, sight picture and firing ergonomics while adding less than 340 grams to the weapon. The system houses a field-replaceable rechargeable Li-Ion battery supported by an internal backup power bank, ensuring uninterrupted power delivery even if the main battery is depleted, resulting in a three- to five-fold increase in operational runtime and reducing the soldier’s carried load.

BOOST supports thermal sights, night-vision devices, laser designators and other electronic systems commonly used in combat. Its plug-and-play harness allows seamless integration with various optics and accessories, while the system automatically and intelligently switches between internal and external power sources without interrupting the sight picture or requiring operator intervention.

Engineered for frontline infantry and special operations units, BOOST is supplied as a complete kit including the buffer-tube energy assembly, harness cabling, charger and spare battery. Installation is conducted at the unit armoury level and does not require additional training or changes in field procedures, ensuring straightforward adoption within existing operational frameworks.

Designed to withstand harsh combat conditions, BOOST features military-grade connectors, ruggedised construction and integrated thermal management for performance in extreme temperatures. A built-in failsafe mode guarantees that the rifle maintains full conventional functionality even if the power system is damaged or fully depleted, preserving reliability in all circumstances.

“For today’s soldiers, every gram matters, every second counts and every watt of power can make the difference between mission success and failure,” said SK Group’s Vice Chairman Ronen Hamudot. “BOOST is a tactical leap forward, delivering energy autonomy, reducing logistics and keeping soldiers focused on the mission rather than power management. We’re proud to deliver a system that enhances operational endurance without compromising weapon performance.”

For commanders and logistics units, the system offers significant operational advantages, including extended mission endurance, reduced battery resupply requirements and increased payload capacity for ammunition, medical supplies or mission-specific equipment.

IWI, the primary supplier to the Israeli Army and Police, provides combat-proven products used by military, law enforcement and special forces in over 60 countries. Known for iconic weapons such as the UZI, IWI continues to advance firearm innovation with systems including the ARAD rifle, the NEGEV light machine gun and the TAVOR.
