Boeing wins 2.47 billion dollar contract for 15 more KC-46A tankers for the U.S. Air Force

Boeing has been awarded a Lot 12 contract worth 2.47 billion dollars to supply 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus tankers to the U.S. Air Force. “Getting on contract helps ensure production stability, including our long-lead supply chain, to continue delivering the unmatched capability of the KC-46A,” said Jake Kwasnik, vice president and KC-46 programme manager.

Boeing has been awarded a Lot 12 contract worth 2.47 billion dollars to supply 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus tankers to the U.S. Air Force. “Getting on contract helps ensure production stability, including our long-lead supply chain, to continue delivering the unmatched capability of the KC-46A,” said Jake Kwasnik, vice president and KC-46 programme manager.

 

The U.S. KC-46A fleet has now surpassed 150,000 flight hours across training, operational sorties and global missions. Boeing reported that 183 KC-46A multi-mission aerial refuellers are on contract or in service worldwide, including 98 delivered to the U.S. Air Force, six to Japan’s Air Self-Defense Force and four contracted for the Israel Air Force.

The company said recent contract awards, including one in July 2024, are enhancing mission readiness and upgrading communications, data connectivity and situational awareness systems. Boeing stated that these improvements will help ensure the KC-46A remains the world’s most advanced multi-mission aerial refueller.
