German Army chooses CZ pistol as new standard sidearm following international tender process

Colt CZ Group SE has announced that its subsidiary Česká zbrojovka a.s. has been selected by the Bundeswehr to supply its new standard sidearm. The decision marks one of the most significant milestones in the company’s history and follows an open international tender.

 

“We are honored that the German Bundeswehr has chosen CZ as its partner,” said Jan Zajíc, CEO and Chairman of the Board of CZ. “Our success in this rearmament tender is one of the most significant achievements in CZ’s modern history.”

He added that the result “clearly confirms the outstanding reputation our firearms have earned through active deployment in real combat conditions.” “We look forward to a long-term cooperation with the Bundeswehr and to fulfilling all its requirements in line with the contract,” Zajíc said.

 

 

The pistols, designated P13 by the Bundeswehr, are based on the CZ P-10 C OR model with a Flat Dark Earth finish and are designed for professional military use. CZ prevailed over several global competitors in the tender, with the model recognised for its reliability, durability and ergonomics.

CZ will fulfil the contract in close cooperation with its authorised German partner POL-TEC GmbH & Co.. The cooperation will also include comprehensive support for the German Army throughout the contract period.
