Derco, a Lockheed Martin company, has been awarded the C-130 Aviation Consumables Performance Based Logistics contract by the US Defense Logistics Agency. The agreement represents the first outcome-based programme between the agency and Lockheed Martin under this initiative and builds on Derco’s more than 45 years of sustainment support.

The contract is designed to support accelerated mission readiness by ensuring the availability of spare parts for the C-130 fleet. It will see Derco work closely with the DLA to deliver performance-based support for new consumables, covering areas such as demand forecasting, inventory management, warehousing, engineering support and field service representation.

“We are thrilled to be partnered with the DLA in support of the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules, and we share in their mission of maintaining high material availability, driving mission capability rates and warfighter readiness,” said Kathy Medalle, Derco president and general manager. “This contract award is a testament to the great working relationship between DLA and Lockheed Martin and our joint commitment to innovation and excellence.”

Derco said the award also underlines its commitment to providing innovative solutions while supporting the growth of small businesses in the defence supply chain. The C-130 Hercules, which has served in roles ranging from tactical airlift to humanitarian missions for more than 70 years, remains a central platform for which Lockheed Martin-Derco continues to provide sustainment support in partnership with the DLA.
