Airbus reported a strong performance for its helicopter business in 2025, with Airbus Helicopters logging 544 gross orders and 536 net orders during the year. The orders came from 205 customers in 50 countries, reflecting solid growth across the full civil and military portfolio.

In unit terms, Airbus Helicopters secured a 51% share of the civil and parapublic market, while its military market share increased to 28%. The company delivered a total of 392 helicopters in 2025 and also recorded strong market momentum for its uncrewed aerial systems.

“Airbus Helicopters’ outstanding performance in 2025, marked by an order intake increase close to 20% in units, demonstrates that our modern civil and military portfolios are delivering the precise mission capabilities required in today’s complex environment,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters. “Our focus on defence and security has never been sharper.”

“Furthermore, we are leading the shift toward UAS by integrating Survey Copter into our core operations, establishing a comprehensive range of tactical drones,” Even added. “By combining drones with our advanced and unique HTeaming capabilities, we provide a seamless, networked ecosystem for the modern battlespace.”

The year was marked by major sovereign commitments, led by Spain’s order for 100 helicopters, including H145Ms, NH90s and the first H175M orders. Germany expanded its fleet with 20 additional H145Ms, while the NH90 programme gained renewed momentum with orders and deliveries across several European countries.

In the heavy segment, Greece ordered eight H215 helicopters for firefighting, underlining the versatility of the Super Puma family. The H225M reached new milestones with a contract from Morocco for ten helicopters and first deliveries to Iraq.

The light twin segment also showed robust demand, with Spain ordering 13 H135 helicopters and the UK National Police Air Service ordering seven. With 149 orders, the H145 once again confirmed its position as the best-selling helicopter across civil, parapublic and military markets.

At VERTICON 2025, Airbus unveiled the H140, a next-generation light twin-engine helicopter marking a new chapter in vertical lift. The H140 has already secured 61 firm orders, while Racer exceeded its original performance targets with a cruise speed of 440 km/h.

Airbus also expanded its tactical drone offering by integrating Survey Copter into its core activities. The company signed its first UAS contracts with Drone Forge and the European Maritime Safety Agency and received an order for six VSR700s from the French Ministry of Armed Forces.

Progress continued on the H160 programme, with the military H160M “Guépard” completing its maiden flight in July. The H160 also secured around 50% of the civil and parapublic market in its segment and entered new mission profiles, including law enforcement, firefighting and offshore energy operations.

To support rising demand, Airbus Helicopters continued to expand its global industrial footprint in 2025. Construction began on a new final assembly line in Vemagal, India, which will become the world’s fourth H125 FAL.

Airbus said its full-year financial results for 2025 will be published on 19 February 2026. The company stated that the expansion in India reinforces its long-term commitment to the local market and global supply chain resilience.
