Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Roketsan to collaborate on future opportunities involving integrated defence capabilities in selected markets. The agreement, announced at the World Defense Show on 10 February, establishes a framework for both companies to work together in responding to customer requirements as they arise.

EOS brings established counter-drone capabilities spanning kinetic and high energy laser effectors, and in 2025 secured what it described as the world’s first export contract for a 100 kilowatt-class high energy laser weapon with the Netherlands. The company has also entered into a conditional high energy laser contract with a customer in the Republic of Korea, reflecting what it said was growing international demand for such systems.

Roketsan contributes experience in defence platforms, systems integration, sensors and command and control, supported by an established industrial base and regional defence relationships. It also provides directed energy solutions against asymmetric threats, with the partnership bringing together complementary strengths to address future customer requirements for integrated capability.

The agreement covers collaboration in jointly identified markets, positioning both companies to pursue opportunities requiring integrated counter-drone and force protection solutions. “EOS has seen growing international demand for high energy laser capability, and this agreement reflects how we are positioning to respond to that demand,” said Dr Andreas Schwer, Chief Executive Officer, EOS. “Working with Roketsan gives us a practical pathway to engage on opportunities where integration and local industrial participation are important.”
