Global aerospace and national security company SNC announced the successful first flight of its Adaptable Communications Suite (ACS 4.0) integrated on the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. The milestone represents a step forward in ongoing modernization efforts for the B-2 fleet.

The enhanced ACS 4.0 upgrade was developed and integrated by SNC in partnership with Northrop Grumman. The upgrade equips the B-2 with advanced technology designed to operate within the Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control environment.

According to the company, ACS 4.0 provides a secure, open mission system computing environment that supports interoperability and integration with other military systems. This capability is intended to help ensure the B-2 remains prepared for strategic deterrence and operational readiness.

The upgrade is designed to improve flexibility and allow seamless integration with a broad range of mission systems. SNC said the system supports current operational requirements while enabling future upgrades to address evolving mission needs.

“This first flight of the B-2 with the upgraded Adaptable Communications Suite is a testament to SNC’s commitment to advancing aerospace technology and supporting the U.S. Air Force’s strategic objectives,” said Jon Piatt, executive vice president at SNC. “Our collaboration with U.S. Air Force has been instrumental in achieving this milestone, combining our strengths to deliver a transformative upgrade for the B-2 fleet. The ACS upgrade ensures that the B-2 remains a formidable and versatile platform, capable of operating in complex and contested environments.”

SNC said the successful integration and flight of ACS 4.0 demonstrates one of the ways the company is delivering advanced defense solutions for the nation’s military. The milestone sets the stage for further enhancements and operational testing before full deployment across the B-2 fleet.

The company added that its aerospace and defense technology expertise continues to support modernization of key military platforms. SNC said these efforts are aimed at helping the U.S. military maintain its technological edge in an evolving global threat environment.
