With the integration of new types of interceptor drones and an AI-supported detection and decision-making architecture, the company states that GARMR represents a significant enhancement in combat value. According to the manufacturer, the updated system sets new standards in mobile drone defence.
GARMR has been developed as a hybrid, modular system with a broad range of applications. It is intended to protect critical civilian infrastructure, such as buildings or events, as well as to operate in high-intensity military combat scenarios.

This flexibility is based on the parallel use of two interceptor drone technologies within the system. GARMR SRS (Short Range System) deploys the CICADA interceptor drone equipped with either a capture net or a warhead, while GARMR MRS (Medium Range System) uses additional innovative interceptor drones to neutralise targets.
Further effectors can be integrated across both ranges, allowing the system to be adapted to specific operational requirements. This ranges from precise, controlled engagement in sensitive civilian environments to performance-optimised defence against complex military threats over longer distances.
A central element of the relaunch is the introduction of AI-supported detection, identification and prioritisation of aerial targets. Modern algorithms automatically analyse sensor data, classify threats and support operational decision-making.
The system combines all key components of a contemporary counter-UAV capability on a highly mobile platform. Its detection sensor technology is designed to identify a wide spectrum of airborne threats at an early stage, from small multicopters to larger military drone systems such as SHAHED or LANCET combat drones.
Building on this detection capability, identification modules are intended to ensure reliable classification and accurate situational assessment. With the relaunch of GARMR at Enforce Tac 2026, Diehl Defence underlines its commitment to providing effective, future-oriented and user-centric solutions in the field of mobile air defence and counter-UAV systems.
