Israel Defense Forces have received a new delivery of thousands of X95 micro-Tavor rifles from Israel Weapon Industries. The delivery forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational readiness with modern small arms systems.

The X95 is a bullpup-configured rifle designed for modern combat environments, including urban and subterranean operations. Officials said it is widely used in close-quarters battle scenarios and is actively deployed in current military missions.

The rifle has been developed in collaboration with elite IDF units to meet evolving operational requirements. It is designed for use by military, police and special forces, combining advanced technology with practical field-driven design.

The system is manufactured from high-strength polymer materials to provide durability while maintaining a lightweight structure. Its compact configuration integrates a longer barrel within a shorter overall length, improving manoeuvrability without compromising accuracy.

The X95 features a closed-bolt gas piston system and fully interchangeable components to support reliability and ease of maintenance. Additional features include ambidextrous operation, integrated backup sights and a modular rail system for attachments.

Officials said the rifle’s design supports stable firing and adaptability across a range of combat scenarios. Its modular construction enables flexibility for different mission requirements and simplifies field maintenance.

“With this latest delivery, we are continuing to support the operational readiness of the IDF with advanced, combat-proven systems tailored to the demands of modern warfare,” said Ronen Hamudot.

“The X95 reflects our close collaboration with IDF units and our commitment to equipping Israel’s defense forces with reliable, mission-ready platforms designed for today’s complex battlefield realities,” he added.

The X95 is already in service with military and law enforcement organisations worldwide and meets NATO standards. Its continued deployment by the IDF reflects its established role as a standard service rifle in demanding operational environments.
