The Tridon Mk2 is capable of engaging multiple targets and countering a range of aerial threats, including drones, cruise missiles and aircraft. The system can also be used against ground threats such as armoured vehicles, supporting both military operations and the protection of civil infrastructure.
“We are more committed than ever to providing our customers with protection from ever-evolving aerial threats,” said Lena Gillström, president of BAE Systems Bofors. “The Tridon Mk2 has been designed for today’s warfare, and we will continue to deliver cutting-edge solutions to put our customers in the best position to meet future challenges.”
The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration previously procured Tridon Mk2 systems in February on behalf of Sweden and Denmark for donation to Ukraine. The delivery formed part of efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence capabilities.
BAE Systems said the Tridon Mk2 is designed to respond rapidly to multiple threats with high precision. The company added that the system is cost-effective, easy to deploy and simple to maintain.
The platform features a modular design that allows it to adapt to changing operational requirements. It can also be upgraded with new technologies as they become available.
