The contract covers the delivery of a Patriot Fire Unit. This includes a launcher station, control station and radar, along with spare parts and a logistical reserve.
Officials said the procurement will expand the Netherlands’ air defence capacity. The system is designed to counter threats at high altitude and long range.
The acquisition builds on a previous Patriot purchase made in early 2025. It is intended as a direct extension of that earlier agreement.
The procurement process was completed within a few months. Authorities said this was made possible by the established and intensive cooperation between the Defence Ministry and Raytheon.
The Patriot system is a key component of air and missile defence. It contributes to the protection of Dutch territory as well as that of allied nations.
Officials said the additional system will strengthen operational capability. It is also expected to improve the continuity and availability of air defence assets.
The contract reflects the Netherlands’ aim to respond rapidly to evolving aerial threats. The ministry said it supports efforts to maintain readiness in a changing security environment.
The system is expected to be delivered within the next few years. Once operational, it will be deployed with the Defence Ground-Based Air Defence Command.
