The event will take place from April 20 to 22 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Textron Aviation Defense representatives will be available to discuss advanced jet training requirements and the aircraft’s role in preparing future naval aviators.
The simulator reflects Leonardo’s work on the M-346 Block 20 program. It is intended to provide a preview of training technologies designed to meet evolving operational needs.
The M-346N is positioned as a solution for both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps training requirements. The system is designed to support modern pilot training through advanced simulation and aircraft capabilities.
The aircraft features a twin-engine, tandem-seat configuration with fully digital flight controls and avionics. Its fly-by-wire system incorporates quadruple redundancy to enhance safety and performance.
Each cockpit is equipped with a Head-Up Display and a Large Area Display. Hands-on throttle and stick controls are integrated to support pilot workload management.
The platform includes advanced safety features such as the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System. These systems are designed to improve operational safety during training missions.
Powered by two Honeywell F124-GA-200 turbofan engines, the aircraft can reach a maximum cruise speed of more than 590 knots. It is capable of operating at altitudes up to 45,000 feet.
The aircraft’s aerodynamic design supports high maneuverability and efficient energy management. The elevated rear cockpit provides instructors with enhanced visibility during flight operations.
The demonstration highlights the role of advanced trainers in modern aviation. It also reflects ongoing efforts to align pilot training systems with future operational requirements.
