The partnership combines AEVEX’s experience in fielding unmanned systems with Divergent’s digital production capabilities. AEVEX has delivered thousands of unmanned platforms worldwide and specialises in rapid payload integration, accelerated testing and the transition from development to deployment.
Divergent will bring its Adaptive Production System, known as DAPS, to the programme. The platform combines AI-enabled design optimisation, additive manufacturing, robotic assembly and model-driven certification within a digital production process.
The companies will study adaptable airframe architectures and manufacturing methods intended to reduce the number of components and simplify integration. Their work will focus on moving new unmanned capabilities from initial design into scalable production more quickly.

Initial work will centre on adaptable airframes, rapid integration workflows and digitally enabled production methods. AEVEX and Divergent said the collaboration would also support efforts to modernise the design-to-production pipeline and strengthen the defence industrial base.
