During the exercise, LTAMDS supported an Integrated Battle Command System and a PAC-3 MSE missile in intercepting a target. The demonstration also validated the radar’s integration with the Large Tactical Power Source, which enhances LTAMDS’ capacity to operate at full battlespace potential.
According to RTX, the system’s three radar arrays provide high-capacity, 360-degree coverage designed to counter large-scale, coordinated attacks involving drones, advanced aircraft, as well as ballistic, cruise and hypersonic missiles. LTAMDS has now completed nine progressively complex flight tests to demonstrate its operational readiness against real-world threats.
“LTAMDS’ 360-degree full-sector sensing capabilities specifically address massive, coordinated attacks from adversaries,” said Tom Laliberty, president of Land & Air Defense Systems at Raytheon. “As international demand grows, Raytheon continues to invest in our production capacity to quickly deliver this critical capability to customers.”
The U.S. Army designated LTAMDS as an official programme of record in April 2025. Poland became the first international customer in 2024, adding the radar to its air and missile defence structure, with several other nations preparing to follow. RTX confirmed that significant capital investments are being made to expand production and meet global demand.
