Australian defence company NIOA and European firm MBDA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore local production and support of the MISTRAL air defence missile system. Announced at the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition in Sydney on 5 November 2025, the agreement could see Australia become the first country outside France to manufacture the advanced missile.
