As part of this development, ACS has appointed Alex Clark, a veteran in engineering and counter-unmanned aerial systems, as Head of Innovation. Clark, formerly Senior Director of Advanced Innovations at BlueHalo, will lead the new lab and guide its mission to deliver the next generation of defence technology.
“We are doubling down on our commitment to build the weapons systems that the U.S. and our allies will need for the conflicts of the future,” said Steve Simoni, co-founder and President of ACS. “Alex’s proven record of scaling complex defense technology programs and his deep engineering and technical expertise, make him the ideal innovation leader.”
Clark brings more than 20 years of experience in counter-UAS solutions, autonomy, and advanced sensors, having held key roles at IERUS Technologies, Engenius Micro, and Kratos Defense. His work in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics has helped shape critical capabilities in modern defence systems.
“ACS is tackling the kind of complex, high-consequence challenges that define the future of defense,” said Clark. “Equipped with the expert team, technical expertise, and accurate understanding, ACS is positioned to address the pressing challenge hostile drones pose for modern warfare.”
Clark highlighted the need for innovation in counter-UAS technologies, describing it as a “layered, multi-domain problem – from sensing and targeting to the mechanics of engagement.” He added, “The best engineers connect the dots in unconventional ways, applying existing technologies in ways no one else has imagined.”
ACS is currently focused on its flagship product, Bullfrog™, a robotic weapon station designed to enhance both legacy and modern weapon systems with precision targeting capabilities. Bullfrog significantly increases the accuracy of battlefield weapons and marks a substantial improvement over traditional remote weapon stations operated via analogue controls.
The company views Bullfrog and its autonomous systems as a necessary response to the rising threat posed by unmanned technologies on the battlefield. According to ACS, these systems provide the most practical and effective countermeasure for organisations tasked with national security.
Allen Control Systems is committed to delivering autonomous precision weaponry to equip U.S. and allied forces for future conflict scenarios. Its technologies, including Bullfrog, are set to redefine battlefield security and enhance the operational effectiveness of defence forces worldwide.
