ANAVIA, a Swiss company specialising in rotary-wing unmanned aerial systems and part of EDGE, has inaugurated a new headquarters and advanced prototyping facility in Bilten, Switzerland. The site, unveiled in August, marks ANAVIA’s second location alongside its original hub in Näfels.

The new headquarters will function as a research and development centre for next-generation unmanned helicopters, strengthening both European and UAE capabilities in rotorcraft technology. Näfels will continue to serve as the centre for serial production, ensuring balanced growth across the two sites.

Jon Andri Jörg, Co-CEO and Founder of ANAVIA, said: “Our new HQ in Bilten is a testament to our commitment to delivering advanced unmanned aerial systems for defence, security, and civil applications. As Bilten becomes the nucleus for engineering activities and platform innovation, Näfels will serve as our centre for serial production, enabling us to scale with precision and agility.”

“Through this dual-hub model, we’re accelerating development cycles, strengthening collaboration with our partners, and advancing the future of autonomous rotorcraft systems,” Ishan Sahgal, Co-CEO of ANAVIA, added. The company confirmed the facility will create new jobs, expanding its combined workforce in Bilten and Näfels to over 100 employees.

ANAVIA’s latest project includes the modular HT-750 heavy-lift unmanned helicopter, designed with an endurance of 15 hours, a payload capacity of 750 kg, and a range of more than 2,500 km. The aircraft can be operated through manual-assisted or fully autonomous flight and is intended for personnel or cargo transport.
