Aselsan has been awarded a three-year framework contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to supply Identification of Friend or Foe interrogator systems for man-portable air defence systems. The agreement covers the delivery of Mode 5 IFF capability, supporting safer and more confident engagement decisions across Allied forces.

Aselsan is one of the limited number of suppliers able to provide Mode 5 IFF systems and brings more than two decades of experience in identification technologies. Its portfolio includes long-range and short- to medium-range interrogators, combined interrogator and transponder units, man-portable and naval configurations, as well as standalone IFF solutions, all compliant with NATO standards and interoperable with both legacy and latest secure systems.

The contract extends Mode 5 interrogation to the MANPADS layer, strengthening identification discipline, interoperability and operational confidence in time-critical air defence missions. It also underlines NATO’s confidence in Aselsan’s proven expertise and its ability to deliver secure, mission-critical technologies for allied operations.
