BAE Systems has received a $473 million contract to produce 40 additional M109A7 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer sets, including the M992A3 Carrier Ammunition Tracked vehicle. The award supports continued modernization of U.S. Army artillery capabilities through additional production of the Paladin system.

“The M109A7 Paladin Self-Propelled Howitzer provides the firepower and operational advantage Soldiers need on the modern battlefield,” said Dan Furber, Combat Mission Systems’ Artillery and Combat Support program director for BAE Systems, Inc. “This platform gives warfighters the decisive edge in any conflict, and we are looking forward to continuing to provide this proven capability to the U.S. Army.”

The contract also includes support services such as technical support packages, post-production refurbishment, and welding compliance. It was awarded by the Army Contracting Command Detroit in September and represents the first award under a five-year contract framework.

Production of the M109A7 will take place at facilities in York, Elgin, and Anniston. The program supports ongoing delivery of artillery systems to the U.S. Army while sustaining manufacturing operations across multiple states.
