The BIA self-propelled howitzer was first unveiled at DSEI in London earlier this year, and the latest edition of IDEB marked the second time this artillery system played a main role at Konstrukta Defence’s display. In addition to the BIA 155mm howitzer, Konstrukta Defence also presented other well-known self-propelled howitzers, including the Zuzana 2 and EVA.
However, it was the BIA self-propelled howitzer that, in the opinion of the IDEB exhibition organizers, truly deserved special recognition. They decided to honor it with the “Grand Prix IDEB Defence & Security” award.
The BIA 6×6 is an autonomous self-propelled artillery system equipped with automatic ammunition loading, enabling effective firing through both direct and indirect aiming methods. Its design is based on a combat-proven 155mm 52-caliber gun system, incorporating a comprehensive range of verified assemblies and design solutions. The gun is mounted on a specially designed TATRA chassis, providing the system with exceptional cross-country capabilities and agile mobility, which facilitates rapid engagement of new firing positions.
According to Konstrukta Defence, the 155mm BIA 6×6 stands out as a state-of-the-art autonomous artillery system, incorporating a range of innovative features that contribute to its exceptional performance on the battlefield.
