On 29 December, the United States Department of War announced the signing of a production contract with Boeing for the supply of F-15IA Eagle II multirole combat aircraft to Israel. The contract has a maximum value of USD 8.5 billion and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2035.

Under the agreement, Boeing will manufacture and deliver 25 F-15IA Eagle II aircraft, which will undergo integration and testing with Israeli-made systems. The contract also includes an option for Israel to purchase an additional 25 aircraft at a later stage.

The extended delivery timeline is linked to the integration and testing of Israeli equipment, a procedure that has long been standard practice for combat aircraft produced for Israel. Upon contract signature, an initial tranche of USD 840 million was released, with part of the funding coming from the U.S. Foreign Military Financing programme allocated to Israel.

The production contract forms part of a government-to-government Letter of Offer and Acceptance signed by the United States and Israel in November 2024. According to available information, deliveries of the F-15IA Eagle II are expected to begin in 2031, with annual batches of four to six aircraft, enabling the re-equipment of one Israeli Air Force squadron currently operating the oldest F-15A/C Eagles.

U.S. State Department data also indicated that the sales package included an option to comprehensively modernise 25 Israeli F-15I Ra’am multirole fighters. At present, there is no information confirming Israel’s intention to proceed with such upgrades.

For Boeing, the production contract for 25 F-15IA Eagle II aircraft represents the first marketing success of the F-15EX programme. The company is currently delivering aircraft to the US Department of War and continues promotional efforts in markets including Indonesia, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Poland.
