The project represents an investment of approximately $100 million and is aimed at boosting productivity to meet increasing demand for Bombardier’s business aircraft. The facility is expected to open before the end of 2027 and is anticipated to create skilled job opportunities.
“This major investment demonstrates our commitment to support Bombardier’s growth and build the infrastructure we need to maximize our productivity,” said David Murray, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, IT and Bombardier Operational Excellence System. “As we expand our manufacturing capacity, we’re positioning ourselves to keep up with global demand and solidify our position at the top of the business aviation industry.”
Murray also highlighted public support for the project, noting the role of Investissement Québec and its ESSOR programme in financing part of the expansion through a repayable loan. The support is intended to align with Bombardier’s global growth objectives while creating quality jobs in Quebec.
Quebec’s Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy and Minister responsible for the Montérégie region, Christine Fréchette, will attend the announcement to confirm a $35 million repayable, non-forgivable loan under the ESSOR programme. “By supporting the expansion of Bombardier, a world class prime contractor, our government is generating significant economic benefits for the entire Quebec supply chain and for the aerospace cluster,” she said.
The announcement follows a series of major economic contributions by Bombardier to Quebec and Canada, according to a recent study by PwC. The study found that Bombardier contributed $7.4 billion to Canada’s GDP in 2024 and supported nearly 50,000 jobs nationwide, including nearly 10,000 direct jobs in Quebec.
