Brave1 leads testing of Ukrainian fixed-wing loitering munitions beyond 40 kilometres

By Defence Industry Europe

More than ten Ukrainian manufacturer teams have tested fixed-wing loitering munitions capable of flying over 40 kilometres and performing simulated strikes on designated targets. The event marked the first in a series of three trials aimed at developing and improving these unmanned systems.

The evaluation focused on systems available in the Ukrainian market, assessing their readiness and effectiveness under specific technical requirements. These included affordable specialised video transmission and other operational capabilities.

Manufacturers now have the opportunity to refine their systems based on trial results before proceeding to the next phase of testing. Alongside complete platforms, Ukrainian-developed components and AI-based software solutions were also demonstrated.

These technologies may be integrated into future loitering munitions to enhance precision and overall performance. The event also allowed for interaction between developers and representatives of Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces.

Participants received detailed feedback through the secure Brave1 Chat integrated with the DELTA system. The event was supported by Brigadier General Andrii Lebedenko, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Armed Forces’ Innovation Directorate.
