The Spanish Directorate General of Armament and Material (DGAM) has received three offers for new rocket artillery systems (MLRS) for the Spanish Army. Spain intends to procure new weapon systems of this class under the SILAM (Sistema de Lanzacohetes de Alta Movilidad) programme, which is expected to be launched soon.

The Spanish website Info Defensa has reported this as a first. According to the publication, three foreign defense companies have submitted their offers for rocket artillery systems, and each has declared deep cooperation with the Spanish defence industry.

South Korean company Hanwha Aerospace is offering Spain the K239 Chunmoo system and intends to cooperate with Tecnesis 3000.

Brazilian defence company Avibras, in collaboration with SMS (Spanish Missile Systems), is offering the Astros system to the Spanish Army.

Finally, the third offer has been submitted by Elbit Systems in collaboration with Expal, Escribano, GMV, and Iveco. The Israeli company is offering the PULS system, which has already been contracted by Denmark and will soon be contracted by the Netherlands.
