Around SEK 250 million of the contract relates to the development of the solution, which is based on Clavister’s in-house networking and security software, while approximately SEK 30 million concerns support and maintenance. The project is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026, with a development phase lasting about 36 months followed by a four-year support period, with options for further extensions.
The system will form a core part of the Mime programme, an NDMA-led initiative to modernise tactical command, control, and communications infrastructure. The programme aims to establish a robust and future-proof digital foundation to support long-term operational defence requirements.
“This contract is a strong recognition of Clavister’s long-term focus on delivering resilient, secure, and sovereign networking solutions for defence and other mission-critical environments,” said John Vestberg, Chief Executive Officer of Clavister. “We are proud to support the Norwegian Armed Forces with a solution based on our in-house developed technology, and we look forward to a close and constructive collaboration with NDMA throughout the delivery and support phases.”
“NDMA has awarded Clavister the contract, following a process of evaluating strong solutions in the market,” said Cathrine Devold, Programme Director for Mime at NDMA. “We look forward to further develop our tactical communications capabilities together with Clavister, who has shown the ability to understand and deliver on our high-demanding requirements that secure our Forces’ tactical communications needs.”
“Tactical communication nodes provide our forces with effective, secure and user-friendly connectivity regardless of the communication carrier,” said Lieutenant Colonel Lars Eirik Aas of the Norwegian Army. “TCNS gives the tactical communication nodes the functionality that is essential for accomplishing the Armed Forces’ demanding missions.”
Revenue from the contract will be recognised over time in line with applicable accounting standards, starting from project commencement and continuing throughout delivery and support. Payments will be made according to defined delivery milestones, strengthening Clavister’s position as a European supplier of cybersecurity solutions for mission-critical defence environments.
