On 2 September, the Croatian Ministry of Defence officially presented the Bayraktar TB2 combat unmanned aerial vehicles, which have been introduced into the structures of the country’s Air Force. In total, Croatia purchased six units that have been allocated to the 125th Reconnaissance Squadron of the Croatian Air Force.

The aircraft are based at the military section of Zagreb’s International Airport. The contract for the procurement was concluded in November 2024 with a value of 95 million USD.

Alongside the six TB2s, the agreement includes command and control stations, communication terminals, simulators, as well as logistical and training support services and other necessary elements for effective operation. A public presentation of the Croatian TB2 took place during the August military parade in Zagreb, where one disassembled unit was displayed on a truck.

According to the declaration, full operational readiness is expected to be achieved by the end of September. The Bayraktar drones will complement the current capabilities of the Croatian Air Force, which already includes Dassault Rafale multirole fighter aircraft and OH-58D Kiowa and UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.
