Czech Army to receive SENTRY anti-tank mines from Finnish manufacturer Forcit Defence

By Defence Industry Europe

The Czech Army will soon be equipped with state-of-the-art SENTRY smart anti-tank mines, manufactured by the Finnish company Forcit Defence. These advanced systems, combining cutting-edge technology and safety, will be supplied under a seven-year framework contract with the Czech defence company STV GROUP.

The contract, awarded through a competitive tender, could amount to CZK 4.08 billion, depending on the Army’s needs. At least 10,000 SENTRY mines are guaranteed as part of the agreement, placing the Czech Republic among the select NATO nations with such sophisticated mine defence systems.

SENTRY mines offer revolutionary features, including the ability to network and remotely control individual units. With precise localisation, secure programming, and encrypted communication, these mines ensure high efficiency while maintaining safety for allied troops. They are designed to perform reliably under extreme conditions and can neutralise specific types of armoured vehicles.
