The accelerator will provide Danish startups and SMEs with resources to develop cutting-edge drone solutions for Ukraine and other global emergencies. Participating companies will gain access to funding, expert guidance, testing facilities, and opportunities to collaborate with defence and security partners in Denmark and Ukraine.
“This initiative demonstrates how innovation can meet critical needs,” said Søren Elmer Kristensen, CEO of Odense Robotics. “We aim to strengthen Denmark’s drone industry while contributing to Ukraine’s resilience and advancing global unmanned technologies.”
CenSec, Denmark’s cluster for defence, space, and security, is a key partner in the initiative. Dustin Wilden, interim CEO of CenSec, highlighted the partnership’s potential to create impactful solutions. “By combining Denmark’s capabilities in unmanned systems with Ukraine’s urgent needs, we aim to foster technological advancements and meaningful contributions to Ukraine’s security,” Wilden said.
The accelerator will tap into Denmark’s established robotics and drone ecosystem, offering tailored support to businesses through customised tracks. Participants will develop dual-use technologies, access test facilities, and showcase their solutions at international events. A parallel initiative will connect Danish and Ukrainian companies, fostering collaborations through networks and Ukraine’s defence industry hub.
Announced on 9 December, the initiative is part of Denmark’s broader support for Ukraine. “Drones are playing an increasingly critical role in Ukraine’s fight for freedom,” said Morten Bødskov, Denmark’s Minister of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs. “This investment will strengthen collaboration, support Danish innovation, and contribute to Ukraine’s defence while unlocking future growth and jobs.”
Christian Motzfeldt, Chair of Denmark’s Business Promotion Board, emphasised the urgency of the project. “In a war situation where threats evolve constantly, we aim to deploy resources swiftly, fostering partnerships between Danish and Ukrainian companies to drive innovation and deliver solutions benefiting both nations,” he said.
