KNDS said the use of the Tatra 10×10 chassis highlights the close cooperation between KNDS Deutschland and the Czech company Tatra Defence Vehicles. The system will be Denmark’s first wheeled platform capable of laying Leguan bridges, complementing the Leopard 2-based variant already in service.
The contract includes an option for training equipment and three additional wheeled bridge layers and Leguan bridge sets worth EUR 25 million. A decision on the option is expected in 2026.
The agreement also contains an opening clause allowing other Scandinavian countries to join. Denmark’s choice of the wheeled Leguan is intended to expand its existing bridging capability with a more mobile solution.
