EDGE Group and Italian defence and aerospace company Leonardo have announced their intent to form a joint venture in Abu Dhabi. The new entity aims to establish a cutting-edge technology hub in the UAE, designed to serve global markets through a unified and collaborative approach.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed in Abu Dhabi by H.E. Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of EDGE Group, and Roberto Cingolani, CEO and General Manager of Leonardo. This agreement marks a significant step forward in the ongoing strategic partnership between the two companies.

The joint venture will cover a wide range of defence domains and integrate advanced technologies including Naval C2 systems, ballistic missile defence combat systems, and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS). Additional areas of focus will include airborne capabilities for maritime multi-mission aircraft (MMA), optronics, air defence, and high-performance computing (HPC) electronics for missile applications.
