EDGE Group secures AED 4.36 billion contract for aerial munitions supply

Under the terms of the contract, EDGE subsidiary LAHAB DEFENCE SYSTEMS will manufacture and deliver MK 81, 82, 83, and 84 general-purpose aerial munitions. As the UAE’s exclusive munitions producer, LAHAB DEFENCE SYSTEMS plays a key role in strengthening the country’s defence manufacturing capabilities.

Saif Al Dahbashi, President of Missiles and Weapons at EDGE, highlighted the significance of the contract, stating that it underscores the UAE MoD’s confidence in EDGE’s ability to provide essential defence supplies. He also emphasised that ensuring a stable and secure supply of ordnance is crucial for national security and operational readiness.

The deal aligns with EDGE’s broader strategy to accelerate the development of a localised defence industry. By securing this agreement, the UAE is taking a step towards greater sovereignty in defence manufacturing, ensuring sustained access to critical military equipment.
