The SBNVG systems will be manufactured at Elbit America’s facility located in Roanoke, Virginia. Production is expected to continue through December 2026 as part of a multi-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract secured in 2023.
The SBNVGs are lightweight, helmet-mounted systems designed to enhance operational capabilities in low-visibility environments. They combine high-performance white phosphor image intensification tubes with an advanced clip-on thermal imager, allowing Marines to detect hidden targets even in complete darkness.
With features that include exceptional depth perception, clarity, and situational awareness, the SBNVG systems are well-suited for a range of operational scenarios. These include vehicle operation, on-foot manoeuvring, and navigating tunnels or dark buildings. Designed for prolonged missions, the goggles offer extended battery life and reliable performance regardless of environmental conditions.
