The project is a joint initiative between Elbit and Rafael, integrating their cutting-edge electronic warfare technologies. It will feature Elbit’s DESEAVER MK-4 Stabilized and Trainable DCLS alongside Rafael’s high-performance passive and active decoy countermeasures.
Rafael’s decoy systems are designed to neutralise modern anti-ship missile (ASM) threats, enhancing vessel protection. The upgraded range includes passive RF and IR countermeasures such as BEAM TRAP, SMOKE TRAP, and WIZARD, as well as the advanced C-GEM active decoy.
Elbit’s DESEAVER MK-4 system is a sophisticated electronic warfare (EW) solution capable of countering complex missile threats. It operates as part of Elbit’s integrated EW suite, improving situational awareness and defence capabilities in maritime environments.
The system deploys multiple decoys from trainable and stabilised launchers, offering rapid and precise threat response. It supports both passive and active countermeasures and is fully integrated with ship combat systems, marking a significant advancement over legacy fixed launchers.
Tzvi Marmor, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Rafael’s Land and Naval Systems Division, expressed pride in leading the partnership. He emphasised Rafael’s commitment to delivering innovative and combat-proven electronic warfare solutions to safeguard allied naval forces.
Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW, highlighted the growing demand for electronic warfare self-protection technologies. He noted that this contract reinforces Elbit’s position as a key provider of advanced defence solutions across the naval and air domains.
This contract strengthens NATO’s naval defence capabilities by equipping modern frigates with next-generation soft-kill anti-missile systems. The collaboration between Rafael and Elbit ensures that allied naval forces remain protected against evolving maritime threats.
