Elbit Systems Sweden demonstrates digital land force network linking soldiers, vehicles and command posts [VIDEO]

The demonstrations connected soldiers, vehicles, sensors, command posts and operational elements into a unified digital network. The system enabled real-time voice, video and data sharing across all levels of command.

Elbit Systems Sweden, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems, specialises in advanced digitalisation, communications and radio technologies for modern land forces. The demonstrations were attended by participants from Europe, NATO member states, international partners and leading original equipment manufacturer collaborators.

Each daily event presented operational scenarios designed to show multi-domain connectivity, NATO interoperability, cross-domain integration and real-time mission coordination. The scenarios covered communication from headquarters to the tactical edge.

The network was based on a NATO-interoperable architecture and used Elbit Systems technologies including E-LynX, Torch-X and TIGER-X. The company said these systems support robust communications and coordination in complex operational environments.

The demonstration featured Elbit Systems’ end-to-end Digitalisation Solution operating across a 120-node tactical network. The network was powered by the E-LynX Software Defined Radio family, the Torch-X Battle Management System and the TIGER-X command-and-control architecture.

During the live scenarios, reconnaissance drones, command posts, armoured vehicles and dismounted soldiers maintained real-time connectivity across the network. Commanders monitored the developing battlefield picture and issued digital manoeuvre orders.

Soldiers at the tactical edge shared intelligence and positional data during the exercises. Elbit Systems said the demonstrations showed how its digital framework turns connectivity into operational advantage through secure communications, automation and interoperability.

The company said the system can interoperate with NATO and third-party command-and-control systems. It also demonstrated connectivity with Starlink and other commercial communication systems.

Elbit Systems said the results highlight how scalable and open-architecture communication systems can improve coordination, situational awareness and command effectiveness. The company said these capabilities are relevant across all echelons of a modern fighting force.

The core systems featured included the Torch-X Battle Management System, which links operational echelons through a unified command-and-control framework. They also included TIGER-X for planning, mission execution, situational understanding and decision support, and the E-LynX mobile software-defined radio family as the resilient communications backbone.
