Elbit Systems Sweden AB has announced the establishment of operations in Norrbotten to enhance its local delivery capabilities and ensure more secure, faster support for the Swedish Armed Forces amid growing national security challenges. The move is intended to support the country’s ongoing defence digitalisation efforts and bring the company closer to its key military and technological stakeholders.

“Being close to our customers and users is crucial for us. Our presence in the north strengthens our ability to deliver modern and reliable solutions at the pace required to ensure the Armed Forces’ capability to defend Sweden,” said Tobias Wennberg, CEO of Elbit Systems Sweden AB. He added, “Norrbotten is home to some of Sweden’s leading expertise in both defence and technology. This is where the future of a digitalized defence is emerging, and this is the next natural step in Elbit Systems Sweden’s growth journey.”

As part of the expansion, the company is recruiting a significant number of new employees who will contribute to strengthening Sweden’s security and building its digital defence infrastructure. Elbit Systems Sweden AB, established in 2020, has rapidly become a key player in communication and command support systems through multiple major contracts in Sweden.

The company, a subsidiary of a global defence group, operates across air, land, sea, and cyber domains and serves as a strategic partner to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. Its expansion into Norrbotten underlines its commitment to supporting Sweden’s modernisation and resilience in the defence sector.
