EM&E Group will supply 47 naval weapon stations to the Portuguese Navy through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The Spanish defence and security technology company said the contract is the first of this magnitude that it has managed through NSPA.

The company said the award represents a strategic step in its international growth. It also reinforces EM&E Group’s position as a partner in high-technology naval defence.

The contract will be carried out in two phases. It covers delivery of SENTINEL 2.0 and SENTINEL 30 weapon stations.

The SENTINEL 2.0 and SENTINEL 30 systems are 12.7 mm and 30 mm calibre systems, respectively. EM&E Group said the supply to the Portuguese Navy shows that the systems meet NATO’s technical and operational needs and requirements.

The company said the contract demonstrates its commitment to developing technological solutions that strengthen European strategic sovereignty. It also said the agreement consolidates its position in the naval sector.

EM&E Group said its systems have been in service for years on various Spanish Navy vessels. The company added that they have also been used in other international projects.
