General Atomics AeroTec Systems will exhibit at Navy Tech 2026, where it will present its new Do228 NXT aircraft as a solution for maritime surveillance missions. The event will take place from 3 to 5 February 2026 in Gothenburg and is recognised as Scandinavia’s leading conference for naval and defence technology.

GA-ATS stated that the Do228 NXT is designed to address the increasingly dynamic and complex threat environment faced by naval forces worldwide. The company said a multi-role platform such as the Do228 NXT enables authorities, border guards and military operators to respond rapidly and flexibly to a wide range of operational scenarios.

According to the press release, the design and configuration of the Do228 NXT make it particularly suitable for maritime operations. The aircraft features four underwing hardpoints for the integration of pods or sensors, a spacious rectangular fuselage and an in-flight openable roller door that allows the safe deployment of rescue equipment during over-water missions.

GA-ATS highlighted that these characteristics support a broad range of applications, particularly in the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions. Potential missions include coastal surveillance, naval reconnaissance, protection of underwater infrastructure and the detection of environmental pollution.

The company also emphasised the long-standing presence of the Do228 aircraft in Scandinavia, noting that it has previously operated in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. GA-ATS said that with the enhanced mission capabilities of the Do228 NXT, the aircraft’s established success story in the region is expected to continue.
