STRATCOM is responsible for strategic deterrence, global strike, nuclear command and control, and electromagnetic spectrum operations across the globe. Its mission depends on a secure and advanced IT network that connects systems and data to both national decision-makers and mobile warfighters.
GDIT will apply digital engineering methods to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen collaboration across mission partners. The company will also introduce artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance STRATCOM’s enterprise data, supporting faster and more informed decision-making.
As part of the contract, GDIT will transition STRATCOM to a hybrid cloud environment to improve flexibility and scalability. To safeguard STRATCOM’s networks from cyber threats, the company will implement advanced cybersecurity and zero trust technologies.
“Modernizing STRATCOM’s IT capabilities is critical to protecting our national security and maintaining our strategic deterrence edge,” said Brian Sheridan, GDIT’s senior vice president for Defense. “We look forward to delivering a secure, agile and resilient network that enables our warfighters to be better connected, informed and ready.”
This award adds to GDIT’s ongoing work with other U.S. combatant commands, including digital modernisation services for Central Command and technical and mission support for Special Operations Command. GDIT is a division of General Dynamics, a global aerospace and defence company with a broad portfolio in aviation, shipbuilding, land systems, weapons, and technology.
