German defence company Diehl Defence has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EDGE, a subsidiary of TRUST, during the IDEX 2025 defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration between the two companies in the fields of air defence, guided missiles, and security systems.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of key officials from both organisations, including Omar Al Zaabi, President of Trading and Mission Support at EDGE, and Dr. Harald Buschek, Chief Program Officer of Diehl Defence. Other notable attendees included Dr. Jasem Al Zaabi, Vice President of Business Development at EDGE, and representatives from the German Embassy and Defence Attaché.

Diehl Defence, a long-standing partner of the German Bundeswehr and several international armed forces, sees the partnership as an opportunity to expand its presence in the Middle East. The collaboration is also expected to contribute to the UAE’s efforts to strengthen its sovereign defence and security capabilities.

At IDEX 2025, Diehl Defence is showcasing its latest technology, including the IRIS-T SLM ground-based air defence system. The company’s exhibition also features guided missiles for ground-to-air and air-to-air applications, coastal defence solutions, and RSBS15 missile models, along with ammunition, fuzes, and protection systems.
